Scioto Airlines, also known simply as “Scioto” (sy-OH-tah), is a premium carrier based in the Midwest of the United States. Originally named after the river which flows through the heart of Ohio, Scioto Airlines still claims Columbus, OH and John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) as its home, along with three other major hubs across the Midwest.
Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is now Scioto’s largest hub, offering domestic flights across the US, as well as international flights to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, as well as various other destinations in Central and South America. Scioto also operates major hubs at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP).
The Boeing 737-800 is the workhorse of Scioto Airlines, with it compromising the vast majority of our fleet, operating on many of our domestic and international routes. Although the airline no longer takes possession of additional 737-800’s, in favor of the new 737 MAX 8, you can expect to see the white-tailed deer of Scioto Airlines leaping along the tail of these aircraft for years to come.
All of our aircraft bear names that pay tribute to the local areas and people which helped Scioto Airlines become the great success which it is today. This particular aircraft, registered N487AB, has been named “Chillicothe”, after the town in which our founder was born and raised. As the first capital of Ohio, Chillicothe is a historic city which sits proudly upon the banks of the Scioto River. Scioto Airlines is proud to recognize the contribution it has made to this airline, as well as to the entire state of Ohio.

With the 737-800 forming the vast majority of the Scioto Airlines fleet, it was essential to us that we offered a premium service to all passengers, and to fit all budgets.

Our Traveler Plus class offers all the benefits of a regular Traveler , but with even more perks. Extra legroom, additional beverage and snack options, as well as premium service from our in-flight attendants. A Traveler Plus customer also enjoys complimentary access to the on-board Wi-Fi along with select live TV options through their in-flight entertainment system. (These features are available to Travelers for an additional fee)
Finally, our Explorer class is the finest way to fly to and from the Midwest. Large recliner seats, as well as top of the range in-flight entertainment systems, allows the Explorer to enjoy their flight in ultimate comfort and satisfaction.
