Lagoon Air Boeing 777 temporally seized at London Heathrow by the UK Boarder agency.

Earlier today a Lagoon Air Boeing 777-200LR was seized by the UK Boarder Agency for a full on inspection of the aircraft, it along with the crew and passengers where all fully screened as a part of their operations to stop the trade and important of illegal narcotics. The Passengers where all swiftly put through this, but the crew and plane where held for investigation for 24 hours forcing Lagoon Air to cancel several flights. When asked about the reason for this large scale operation the UK Boarder Agency reported that it had gotten several tip off that the plane and flight in question was used in the illegal importation of controlled substances. This along with the general troublesome news and around the airline in question had them launch an operating to target the flight. They also reinforced that nothing was actually seized and that the plane and crew where simply held for an investigation which is within their powers.

However after the full investigation was completed both the plane and crew where let go as no illegal substances where found to be onboard nor was there anything else out of order to be reported. As a result of the events Lagoon Air has reported filed and official complaint and is looking for damages stating that there was no grounds to seize the entire aircraft for a customs inspection as there was no evidence at all to support that they where doing anything illegal. They state that the UK Boarder Agency has gone outside of itā€™s legal powers in their action and hence are to be held liable for the damages the airline suffered.

While once again it seems people are targeting the airline they in return so far remain clean as no evidence of wrongdoing has yet been found. Still until the airline opens up a bit more it is likely some people will continue to eye them with a great suspicion. However it seems for the people as a whole they have no problems with Lagoon Air as the airline recently reported having transported over 1million passengers since it was founded earlier this year. And this investigation confirmed as much as the plane had been fully booked and despite the cancellations people are seemingly quite happy with how things have been handled by the airline as they swiftly booked passengers onto other flights and compensated them well above legal requirements. A company spokes person stated that no matter how much people might try to hinder their success their passengers should not suffer from this and if they do they deserve to be made whole again.

It seems that the story around Lagoon Air will continue for quite some time to come.

UK Boarder Agency apologizes for itā€™s actions towards Lagoon Air.

As if things could not get much stranger yesterday a formal apology was issued by the UK Boarder Agency in regards to their actions in searching a Boeing 777-200LR belonging to Lagoon Air. They stated they had insufficient evidence to back up such a hefty action which left the airline scrambling to find other flights for over a thousand stranded passengers. As a part of the apology they also put forwards a sum to make the airline whole in regards to the damages it has suffered. However Lagoon Air CEO Dutch refused this stating that the airline is not in the business in taking the peopleā€™s money and that they are pleased enough with the apology. This goes against their earlier claims of taking legal actions, which had been filed, but mainly used they stated to hold the agency accountable which it now has been.

Seeing these events where rather unusual we went to investigate and we learned that the Thai Ambassador to the UK went to visit the freshly reelected prime minister a few days ago. While there is no evidence to support this is related many suspect that this was at least a topic of their conversations.

In other news recently promoted Lagoon Air Rebecca Lee who now has the title of COO has been spotted at the main Airbus facilities in France. With the airline operating a large mixed Boeing and Airbus fleet of mostly odd leased planes it seems like they are looking towards buying their first aircraft outright new from the factory. When we checked with our contacts they confirmed that Lagoon air is looking at putting in an order for 20 Airbus A350-900 aircraft which would be an order of over 6 Billion USD, but that is before discounts are applied. While nothing has been set in stone it seems clear the Airline is looking to expand itā€™s operations even more.

Firefights not fireworks for Lagoon Air

During new years eve Bangkok was shocked by a larger scale firefight as festivities where underway. Luckily it happened in the at the time mostly deserted business district and reportedly no bystanders where harmed. It all started when a Lagoon Air company car containing the Lagoon Air CEO was making itā€™s way from the airport to the central parts of town. When they crossed into the business district the car was taken under heavy fire, the driver managed to dive into a underground parking garage. Luckily the car was armoured to a serious degree and the people inside where kept safe, but now they where locked into the garage as their attackers closed in. Police units where called in, but seeing the degree of firepower being used they had to hold back and call in special units and even the army.

While this took place 2 helicopters took off from DMK airport and swiftly arrived on the scene, where those inside opened fire on the attackers while others roped down from them. In the minutes following the intensity of the fight increased rapidly until it quieted down when the special police units and army arrived to safe the trapped Lagoon Air CEO Dutch, whom was then taken away by one of the helicopters while others secured the car and drove it off under police escort.

The next morning police reported that the attack was done by Chinese Triad members and Thai government reacted furiously about the events putting the blame with China, which in return responded in kind. Lagoon Air CEO Dutch then stepped in stating that while the attack was shocking there should be put no blame on anyone until the investigation was properly conducted. Some suspect Lagoon Air wants to keep the peace as they operate a lot of flights into mainland China.

All in all the events have raised many questions from why this attack would take place to who the unknown forces in the helicopters where, some pictures have shown them using Russian small arms and some rough recordings made experts believe they where ex special forces. As always the details remain vague to nonexistent when things happen around Lagoon Air. However one thing is clear it has once again put a spotlight on the airline, with even some sources within the government stating that they are worried about the airline.

The Thai government however would be in a hard position, as even if they find the airline is not all it seems to be, it is employing 9000 people mostly Thai nationals making it quite the employer not to mention the economic benefits the airline brings to the nation as it is reported to being one of the easiest companies in regards to their taxation as they simply pay what they should. That said if they can prove poor management perhaps they can do a government takeover off the airline and install new management to take over the day to day operations.

Whatever will happen with Lagoon Air, it shall be an interesting story, but till then it seems money talks the loudest of all with the order for 20 Airbus A350-900s being confirmed just yesterday.

Thai authorities announcing investigation into Lagoon Air

Earlier today the Thai authorities officially announced they would investigate the recent start up and by now largest airline of Thailand, Lagoon Air. This they said is following a lot of reports alongside with the recent events around an attack on the Lagoon Air CEO Dutch which left over 2 dozen attackers death and several more wounded and also caused about 2 million USD in damage. A team has been formed from several agencies and from across the nation, which is noticeably light on Bangkok based personnel.

Lagoon Air uncharacteristically responded on the events saying that they will fully cooperate with any investigation believing it will simply proof to the world at large that they are a fully legitimate company that is being targeted by media, governments and it seems criminals for no reason at all.

Some wonder if the investigation is going to be fair as people suspect naturally Lagoon Air of foul play, but others also wonder if it is the pressure from China mainly, but also other governments that are looking to target the airline. What is clear that it seems for the first time the constant events are having a negative effect on the airline which is seeing a drop in reputation and passengers as a result of it all. That said it seems these effect are still rather minor overall and are unlikely to affect the airline long therm.

Whatever the outcome will be most experts agree that it is unlikely going to be the end of the airline as it is to important to the Thai economy to completely shut her down. Either they deem nothing to be amiss or minor issues which are likely to be fined or they might see serious issues and do a government take over of the airline.

50 metric tons of illegal substances found at Lagoon Air hangars

It seems at last the world is getting itā€™s answers in regards to Lagoon Air. After the investigation was announced it didnā€™t take long for a larger task force to approach the Lagoon Air facilities at Don Mueang International Airport. Expecting the possible worst seeing the firepower brought to bear to rescue their CEO earlier, they where met without resistance as staff just opened the gates and told them way. However once they reached the upper floors of the HQ building they saw a lot of bins with burned paper and computers opened up with all their storage mediums missing. It was at this point the task force commander said that they knew the suspicions where correct.

As they kept going they learned that the entire executive staff was gone, upon interrogating some of the staff they came to learn that they had planned their departure the moment the government started working on the task force, before it was even publicly announced. By now they where told they where in Russia, though the Russian foreign minister declined these rumours firmly. Seeing the situation the staff of Lagoon Air was all rounded up and each incoming flight was told to be grounded from there on in and the staff to report to HQ.

As other teams investigated the hangars they found hidden underground facilities beneath them, each containing a wide range of illegal substances ranging from familiar ones such as Crystal meth and Cocaine to new artificial creations which are not even known yet as to what they do. Although the investigation is ongoing authorities reported that thus far they have uncovered over 50 metric tons of confirmed and suspected illegal substances at Lagoon Air facilities.

It thus seems that the airline was actually running the worlds largest drug transportation network. Investigation on the planes has also discovered special areas for storage that could be remotely opened. It is hence suspected the drugs where dropped in one way or the other before the aircraft landed meaning at their destination there was nothing to be found on the planes themselves. This lines up with how the British Boarder Authorities where unable to find anything. All in all it seems the airlineā€™s growth was really down to nothing else, but drug money.

For the time being Lagoon Air will be grounded as the authorities are working on figuring out who of the remaining staff was in on it all and whom where just innocently working for an airline. All the assets have been ceased by the authorities as well and rumour is that they are planning to resume operations, but under a new name.

What is clear is that the story of Lagoon Air has come to an end and we strongly suspect hollywood will want to make a movie of it soon. As far as for the staff that ran it all, we highly doubt we will ever see them again in Thailand or any country that will extradite to them, but seeing the wealth they have now we doubt they will mind all that much.

So comes to end the tale of Lagoon Air, it was a blast, but the longer I stuck with it the more I realized it had to come to an end as it was not realistic for it to go on much further. It marks the most insanely profitable airline I have run post reset following my own guides so to speak. I will reset to a new airline soon, which will run slightly differently, I just need to do the prep work for it.

Anyhow hope you enjoyed the tales of Lagoon air and well I would say, look at DMK airport it is a great destination and so far almost no one is flying there :smiley:
